Like me, I know you were smacked by the hand of Jesus this morning when you walked outside into the arctic tundra known only as the Chicago polar vortex--let's hope you were prepared. If not, here are three easy ways to stay warm without sacrificing your wardrobe! 1. Shoe Game Is Key! - Riders, Uggs, knee highs and combat, boots are a go! - 2 Pairs of fresh socks, or one thick pair, depending upon your liking. - Leg warmers - If you must be work appropriate, take them with you, but your feet shouldn't freeze to death for suit & tie mondays! 2. Head, Neck & Hands Your body's warmth comes mostly from your hands, feet, and head, so it's important they stay warm! - Make sure hands, neck, and feet are ALWAYS COVERED! - Matching sets are cool, but mix and match styles for a trendy look! - Double layer scarves for texture, not to mention warmth and skin protection! - Keep lips and hands greased up to prevent dryness, cold sores and winter itch! Check out Styles 1 & 2! SIDE NOTE: It's IMPERATIVE to wash your scarves regularly. Even if you don't have a cold, someone else's could be chillin' on you after they sneezed around you on the el. I know you saw 'Contagion.' 3. The Double Coat If it wasn't for the lack of positive numbers in the temperature, I would gladly walk out with JUST the leather jacket (left). It's simple, clean, and keeps me relatively warm if I dress warm. Now, Chiberia has inspired me to reach into my bag of tricks to give you the "Double Coat" (shown right). It makes a cool statement with oversized knits and infinity scarves. Plus you get an extra layer of warmth with a stylish twist!
