Fuze the MC's latest project is called "Boom Clap." Presented by Noble Black Society, the Audio Music Novel was a creative production. It was cool to see an upcoming artist take advantage of technology and the new ways that music is being released. The novel was about and hour long featuring 13 songs.
There is a new age of how music is put out into the public. Artist are doing more with music now than ever before. Since Usher made a short film for one of his tracks a few years ago, lots have changed. From Beyonce's surprise video album, to Kid Cudi's undated release, music has definitely shedded its plastic cover. What Fuze and Noble Black Society did was so innovative. They took advantage of the changing times and they used technology in an amazing way. I am a writer, so you know I love a good book. I had never heard of an audio music novel before. I must admit that I had my reservations. I didn't doubt Fuze's rap ability, I doubted the execution of such a novel idea. No pun intended. I was pleasantly surprised. I loved the plotline. The world devoid of music created was cool. The characters were pretty well developed. Carlton was the geeky guy who became the gangsta rapper. Deandre was the cool kid, who became the conscious rapper. I thought it was dope that Fuze showed how music can affect people. The music on the album was just as well developed as the story. There was a mixture of conscious and raw Black expression along with catchy tunes and the occasional bedroom track. There was a great use of sampling as well. It was nice because he had tracks that spoke about much more than what the usual hip hop track discusses. The album was definitely true to Fuze. He continued his unique flow on the tracks. Fuze's delivery is one of the reasons why I like his music. It is unique and distinctive. His flow makes his lyrics more biting and interesting. A lot of time artists can get so caught up in what they're saying that they ignore how they say it. Great rappers master both. Fuze's music is a nice culmination of all of the things that matter to music. I like artist who step outside the box and Fuze did so. He used a really creative venue for his craft. My favorite song on the album is "The One." I'm a mush and it's a love ballad. The only thing that I didn't like about the album was the ending. But of course we always want more. We see the two main characters in jail. And while Carlton is still rapping, Deandre was a mute. I thought that was interesting. I don't want to make assumptions but I was wondering if the end was a commentary on the future of conscious rap. Congratulations Fuze. Not only did you do something creative and innovative, you did it well. I also want to shoutout Emporer Tay. He is the artist behind the video of the first few minutes of the novel. He did a great job. To watch the video and see why I give the audio music novel, "Boom Clap four Stream Stars, click here. Let us know what you think below!
